We love this book and series for our younger students, and they love the songs! Great themes for the songs, and great characters throughout. Tuckers Secret Life is a fun boogie for students to learn. They can't stop playing it they like it so much.
I love the "My First Piano Adventure" books. However, as a piano teacher, I have noticed that ALL the covers fall off after about 6 months of use. It's a little thing, but I wish they would make the covers more durable. Little kids are hard on things.
We borrowed all the piano books in our whole library system to see which to buy. This was it, hands down. Great beginning series. My 8 year old is starting in this book B. His attention span is pretty low so we started with something he can handle, and he loves it. This book is 100% perfect for us. At this age, to me, it's more important that he loves it to start and builds his motivation from within to accelerate as he is ready. I give him a 10 minute mini lesson twice a week and he has to practice at minimum 10 minutes a day. Often he gets playing and goes longer on his own. Most of the reason I wanted to start him on an instrument was to improve his self control and attention span, and I've already noticed gains. We'll keep going with this series.
Love the Faber series of piano lesson books and have used them for over 10 years. The pictures are good, the notation is larger and therefore easier to see and read. There are fun theory workbooks to go with each level. Christmas books by Faber for each learning level are also great! Love this curriculum!!
