This is a good book for a beginner, especially a child. The cover is sturdy, spiral edges, making it easy to open and keep open.
We bought this book because it is the one used by my child's fourth grade band program, and it seems well suited to that age and older. The book covers the beginning fundamentals for snare drum, bass drum and bells/xylophone. The snare and bass exercises comprise the first half of the book and are written together, on one staff. The bells exercises make up the second half of the book. Exercises are short, 1-2 lines of music, and fundamentals are explained clearly before each segment. Although this may be outside its scope, it would be fun for kids of this age if some of the music were simple versions of rock classics, instead of all folk songs and classical.
I got this for my brother who plays and this book is very helpful for the new learner. Instructions are clear and easy. I love essential elements
The only review would be the delivery from Amazon does not follow drop off directions I have always put leave at backdoor and they never do they put it at front door . But as far as the book it is really nice, great price , made great no complaints with the book, excellent condition better than going to an expensive music store that wants to charge high price .
excelente para practicar
This book was 100% in terms of what we needed. It was in perfect condition as a brand new book should be. We got exactly what we were expecting. Thank you for such a great product.
I Teach Private Drum and Percussion Lessons a few days a week, and this book gets them started on reading and basic skills. Many of my Drum Set Students, also plan to take School Band, and I use this book during the summer and the year before they go into band for the first time, to give them an understanding and the ability to read and play basic rudiments, before they walk in to the classroom.
