I just finished reading Raising Mentally Strong Kids and loved the practical techniques for many difficult parenting situations. I love that this book uses proven strategies based on love and logic. I am a grandmother now, and wish I had this book when raising my daughter. If you have really limited time to read a book, start at the end - the final chapter lists 130 strategies to get started. But this book is what I call an "easy read", and offers numerous sample conversations and language as guidance for many common parenting problems. I also love the emphasis that it is never too late to make these changes, even for adult children who perhaps are struggling with the transition to adult responsibilities.

I have 5yr old twins and have been listening to Dr. Amens podcast for different things and he just gives great advise. So, I found out about this book I was excited to listen to it. I did get the hardcopy but also got a free 60 days of the audio book which was so much better for me as I don't have time to read. So, I have been listing to the book while driving or even when I shower. I did know some of the things but have learned so much and even just the reminders of what I know from 2 Dr's was great. It even has a chapter on bullying and how to train your kids to not get bullied. I will be highlighting the book and using a lot of this information. What I have put in place has worked great so far. We all know that ever kid is different and so you have to use different ways with each child, my twins are night and day, but I think this could help a lot of people! I have showed the book to so many people and plan to add this to my baby shower gift ideas.
