Two best friends, stalled and dissatisfied, change the course of their lives in a wildly funny novel about facing your fears—to the extreme—by New York Times bestselling author Jen Lancaster. Once upon a time, Dr. Emily Nichols—the academic kind, not the physician kind—was an eco-crusader who was shot with water cannons, hunted by poachers, and chased by a bulldozer.
Now? Action Emily lives in a bland condo with gray walls and teaches disengaged students at a university alongside a risk-allergic boyfriend, asking herself every day: How did I get here? Then one afternoon Emily and her best friend, people-pleasing real estate agent Liv Bennett, witness an attempted robbery at their local coffee shop that is foiled by a yoga mom wielding a baby stroller.
Their hero attributes her bravery to a mysterious class called Fearless, Inc. Its enigmatic and dizzyingly muscular instructor, Zeus, is now fully committed to helping Emily and Liv overcome their fears, too—one thrilling self-help lesson at a time. Along with a ragtag group of other wimps, Emily and Liv must embrace the passionately unconventional methods of the leader to harness their powers, gain a bracing new perspective on life, act on their impulses, and be the no-holds-barred anti-heroes of their dreams.
In a world where good and evil are merely shades of gray, The Anti-Heroes takes readers on an exhilarating journey through the complex and unpredictable lives of unconventional protagonists. This gripping narrative unravels a story where traditional heroism is turned on its head and characters navigate moral ambiguity. With a compelling plot that defies expectations, the novel delves deep into the psyche of individuals living in the margins of society, seeking redemption in a world that refuses to see them as anything but lost causes.
The Anti-Heroes challenges the conventional dichotomy of good and evil through complex morally ambiguous protagonists. Vividly crafted characters bring depth and nuances to the narrative engaging readers in their struggles. Unpredictable plot twists keep readers on their toes making it a captivating read from start to finish.
The Anti-Heroes introduces readers to a compelling cast of characters each trapped in their own web of personal and societal struggles. Through their journeys the novel illustrates the blurred lines between right and wrong. As the protagonists find themselves entangled in unforeseen circumstances they are forced to question their own beliefs and choices ultimately embarking on paths of self-discovery.
Set against a richly painted backdrop the story weaves together multiple narratives each unique yet interconnected This narrative technique allows readers to experience the dynamic interplay between various characters their motivations and the impacts of their actions With an intricate plotline the novel doesn't shy away from addressing provocative themes inviting readers to ponder the true meaning of heroism.

This story is engaging about friendship, loss, unity, and self-empowerment. Great beach read.
Quirky group of young people find their inner strength in this amusing yet heartfelt novel. Somehow it is a captivating story that I got wrapped up in.
I had such a good time reading this book and as the characters developed, I wished I could see them in the screen version. The story was thoughtful, silly, and a great break from the world’s heavy vibe.
This was a fun book to read. Uplifting and current. I really enjoyed the variety of characters and references to life in 2024
I really enjoyed this novel. The characters were so well drawn that all the antics seemed 'meant to be'. The writing style was vivid and !made me relish the story.
I enjoyed blowing through this book in a day but was less than impressed with the stereotypical characters. You will enjoy some parts more than others. It was not a waste of my time.
This is a very quick read. There are some humorous, clever parts. It gets a bit preachy, but it's all in good fun. No surprises and not a lot of depth. It alternated characters between chapters and a few times I mixed up which MC was narrating. The characters and plot are very light hearted, and feel good. There really isn't much bad to say and I'm a bit surprised I liked it much as I did. This was an Amazon First Reads. One of the better picks for me.
It was a playful romp through some neurotic, though lovable characters brought together through a traumatic event. Funny and engaging, the story is a good, fast read. Enjoy!
