I loved the story, how possessive and obsessed he was before she was even aware of him, definitely has plot, I think their romance was wonderful, the spicy scenes were nice and interesting. Love the end and can’t wait to read the next 2 books. This book was for me a palate cleanser because of how cute and sassy it is. Recommend!
Real emotions displayed by all the characters. Margo and Beck's seemingly back story gives their love story depth. There is never a point where you root for the cheating ex/ brother. Beck is the epitome of the perfect book boyfriend. The way he pays attention to every detail about Margo from remembering her favorite coffee from when she was Carter's girlfriend, to knowing her life passion and goals to the subtle ways he takes care of her (like rubbing her feet unbidden) and making her feel confident, beautiful and flawless. He has already fallen for her well before he proposes the fake fiance set-up. As a man who is used to getting what he wants, he concocts his crazy scheme to get her to notice him. To give him a chance. Margo is taken aback by his plan not understanding how he thinks she should be central to it. Is he just trying to help his brother get her back? Will his parents think less of her? Will her heart survive a year with this Adonis? Can she pass up the opportunity to move back to NY and to get the great Hunter Camden to look at her artwork? Well written, without cheating of the main characters, no SA/PA, with the perfect amount of spice.
I really wanted to give it 5 stars because it was a great storyline & I loved the MC’s. My only issue was there was SO much repetition I found myself skipping through it. Without the repetition, the book would have probably been about 250 words which could’ve been used to enhance the storyline, add scenes or even expand the storyline.
Let me just start by saying…I did like the gist of the story and the spice, the Author is a good writer and Beck’s filthy mouth totally does it for me. (Although if a man can talk with a woman sitting on his face, they’re not doing it right!!) However, I am extremely nitpicky (because of my work) about silly mistakes that could have been avoided. One or two can be overlooked but when there are numerous, obvious, errors it is annoying – especially as it would have taken minimal effort to fix before publishing. A few examples: • Page 102: “Good afternoon, Tom.” Then the next page they say ‘morning’ - twice. • Page 122-123: At the end of this chapter Margo details that they ‘both focus on clearing our plates’ and ‘plate now clean’. So why on the end of the next chapter (Page 128) does Beck ‘get up, grabbing both our plates and putting them in the sink for the house cleaners to take care of tomorrow.’ • Page 130: A tuxedo...to work? No, just no. • Page 145: Coffee…’He plucks his coffee from the tray’ then ‘He walks to his seat…grabbing a legal pad…as well as a cup of coffee identical to the one I just gave him.’ So, Beck is balancing two coffee cups and a legal pad, I think not, Margo should hold the coffee until he throws his first one in the trash. • Page 161: ‘Ezra is waiting at the private airport for us’. Why is Beck’s Chauffer at the airport and not in the car? Ok, I get why, but come on, he would be driving! Why not leave him back in NY? Surely Leroy could have helped with the car the next day. It is a little insulting to the reader. • There was a lot of repetition - We get it…Beck was ‘deprived’ for what, a whole month, heaven forbid – the repetition gets old quickly. I definitely did some skimming through the pages. • Using the incorrect ‘tense’ for verbs, often and multiple times in a sentence. I could go on, and yes, I understand these are not hideous errors that effect the story, and the book is obviously doing extremely well, but I find them annoying, they detract from my enjoyment of the book. An 'OK' read, I would probably read the Author again – but it would certainly be worthwhile having an editor take a pass over it.
It was incredible! The story just got me and both characters were so suited for each other. I loved it and can’t wait to get into the second one.
This story was witty, well written, and the hilarious snark between the grumpy MMC and sunshine FMC had me giggling in it loud. Loved it.
Where to start? Margo and Beck have a long history. Much longer than she really knows. This book was so good. My emotions were all over the place. Not to mention the spice was top notch. This book will have you in your feelings from the start. So buckle up. Beck is the oldest of the Sinclair brothers and the older brother of Margo’s ex boyfriend Carter. He has a security business and more money than he knows what to do with. The one thing he doesn’t have is the woman he’s fawned over for years, his Violet aka Margo. When Margo finds out that her boyfriend Carter had been cheating on her, their whole relationship she understandably doesn’t answer Becks calls. This resorts to him doing something crazy. Margo is a sweet funny artist who’s stuck being a graphic designer for a security company in a city she hates. Until Beck walks back into her life and offers her the chance to have a once in a lifetime opportunity. Be his fiancee and help clean up his act. In return he will put in a good word with his best friend to get her artwork seen by one of the top artist around and get her back to the city she love. All she has to do it be his assistant and pretend to fall in love with him. It won’t be hard since he’s gorgeous. But we all know how that turns out. From the beginning of the book the dirty talk starts and it’s beautiful. But the way Beck talks about her is more than that. He sees her in ways no one else does. The plot is so sweet but steamy and when crap hits the fan well that’s when you start really rooting for him to figure this out. I’m only sad we didn’t get more or have her make a photo of them with their babies because I need all the feels! I hope I get glimpses in the next books. 4.8 out of 5 🥵🥵🥵🥵 out of 5. Read this you won’t be disappointed!
