Very nice, looking forward to trying some of the recipes..to be honest, I do feel that I over bought without thinking..so many recipes, way more than I really needed..you never know what will come up but I'll be prepared for anything!
This book has a ton of recipes and a wide range of different recipes within each category. However as someone new to the world of crockpots I found this book overwhelming and hard to find what I needed or wanted in it. If you are looking for basic starting recipes this book isn’t for you. If you want to expand your recipe collection this book is perfect
This is a great cook book. It has more than enough recipes to feed you for 3 years without trying the same thing twice. All the recipes I’ve tried so far have been really good and less than 20 minutes of prep work.
This is a great cookbook! Easy to follow instructions and huge variety of different foods.
If you are looking for some easy inspiration for Fall and Winter cooking ideas you can't go wrong with these recipes. OK I tried three recipes so far and they were all delicious. The lentil soup has lots of vegetables and the autumn cake turned out great and the barbecue beef sandwiches were a hit. Only thing is, I bought apple pie filling instead of apple slices in juice so had to adapt the recipe. Turned out great when I put the 2 (20-ounce) cans apple pie filling in the bottom of the slow cooker and topped it with the cake mix (I put in the eggs, water and butter and beat it with a mixer for 4 minutes). What was supposed to happen was the apples and juice were to soak into the cake mix and the butter was supposed to be on top. That did not happen due to me not reading I wasn't supposed to get the apple pie filling. Anyways, I put 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice in a Duncan Hines butter golden cake mix and that worked. So a little adapting. My husband had two helpings he loved it. Even though I think I would use unsalted butter next time! The barbecue sandwiches turned out although I'd skip adding the ketchup and coke next time because that made the whole thing soupy with the beef round slices I found. Maybe the meat had too much water in it. Next time I'd just put in some bottled barbecue sauce and be done with it. My husband ate three sandwiches however no problem! I just strained off the juices and added the barbecue sauce. Problem solved! I look forward to trying other recipes this holiday season. What I will say is that this Large book is actually quite lightweight and is rather cute for a hardcover book. Some of the other recipes you may enjoy include: Bacon Cheddar Dip Sweet 'n Sour Meatballs (a classic) Cheese and Ham Casserole Gingerbread with Lemon Sauce Taco Soup Chili con Carne Creamy Corn Chowder Roast Beef Beef Burgundy Gourmet Meat Loaf Mushroom Chicken Country Ham Scalloped Potatoes Chocolate Fondue Fruit Soup Spiced Cranberry Cider This has an easy-to-use extensive INDEX! There are measurement equivalents and a list of kitchen tools you want to have in your kitchen for this cookbook. The calories per serving is given at the end of each recipe and it tells you how much sodium and carbohydrates so you can choose recipes according to your own diet restrictions. Throughout the book there are cute powder-blue illustrations and the full-color photos are placed in sections throughout the book. I especially loved the photo of the caramel apples. I'm going to try making some soon with a bag of caramel I found here at amazon. I did not think of heating it up in the slow cooker but that is a very good idea! So I think you will enjoy this cookbook for years to come. There are about a gazillion recipes I want to try and I'm very happy with the hardcover book as the pages lay flat once the book is open on the counter which makes it easy to read and cook from. Happy Holidays! ~The Rebecca Review P.S. The "Amazing Meatloaf" recipe on page 311 is well worth making. It was delicious!
I bought this for my daughter and she is very pleased. It arrived on time and in great condition. It has a lot of recipes she has already enjoyed making and ones she's excited to try in the future.
This book is almost 2” thick and packed with great recipes! No pictures though. I didn’t mind that. It has just what I ordered it for. And it is hardback also.
Thick and heavy book with a ton of recipes you won't need another cook book with this baby i love it
