About This Book

Dear Grumpy Horrible Boss, You suck as a lawyer. I don’t even know how you passed the bar. Or how you sleep at night taking clients like Jack Whittington.

Just in case you didn’t know, you can’t fire me just because I have a part-time job working bachelor parties. What I do on the weekend is none of your business and not a part of my employment contract. If I want to go back to wearing coconut bikinis and popping out of cakes, I can.

As soon as I get my big break as an actress, I will be leaving your employ. I am literally counting down the days. You must be dreaming if you think I’m going to be working from 6 am to 9 pm for the next month just so you won’t report me to HR.

Go ahead and report me. See if I care Mr. Wannabe hotshot playboy lawyer.

You’re not that hot and I do not want you. Also, stop emailing me at night with lists of to-dos. Your not very well paid assistant, Lila Haversham Lila, I hope you can count to infinity because that’s how many more days you’re going to be working for me.

If your acting is as good as your dancing, you’re not going to be making it anytime soon. Five words of advice: Don’t quit your day job. Your very well paid and handsome boss, Max Spector P.S.

You’ve been given a new phone so we can communicate via text instead of email. Or, if you’d rather, we can communicate from my bed. I rather not christen that blowup mattress again.

P.P.S. I think your actions in the shower at the gym tell another story about how much you do or do not want me...care to drop the soap again?

OK so I got a minute this author can write really good books however, this book was really good. It’s just the description said one part that didn’t even happen until after they got together and honestly, I thought he would be mad at her doing that if it was before they got together and she was just his worker and they were enemies to lovers kind of am I opinion, so honestly I think that scene should’ve been white earlier than where it was but other than That this book was good and I would 100% recommend for you to read it and I can’t wait to read the next one because that’s what I’m gonna do now bye

First of all I want to say when I started to read this story it made me laugh and I was still laughing up to chapter thirty one and then it was sad for a little while!Lilia was like scary talkable silly person, was willing to do just anything,Max was stiff almost boring lawyer, until he made that bet with Kingston and the sky just open fo,r him when he hires Lilia who isn't really capable of doing the job she needs to do but just talks his head and it may cause him to have a headache or two but he smiles and laughs! This story had a lot of laughs tears and also a lot love! ENJOY,!

I started reading another book of hers and dumped it midway thru cuz I didn’t like the stupid conversations that were in it. It’s been awhile, then I picked up this book. I guess it’s not my style to read dumb banter. These are supposed to be people who are top lawyers or billionaires. Or adults at the least. I know they’re not realistic stories, but it’s very hard to read adults talking like kids. The conversations that Lila has with her friends and the conversations Max has with his partners. Especially Max with his friends. These guys are top lawyers and they’re talking like a bunch of idiots. While the story got marginally better toward the end, she may be put on a list of authors I won’t be reading more books from. Seems like I just don’t care for her writing style.

So loved this book. Sexy, sassy characters with hidden meanings. Some things just happen as they are meant to, Max and Lilia are so not interested in ever after, but maybe they are. This is a delightful story and sweet findings. Thank you J.S.Cooper 💕

When I started this book, I almost put it down. The heroine was all over the place. She talked a mile a minute, and sometimes she was hard to follow, but I realized that's what makes her so relatable and lovable. It was nice to have characters that weren't picture perfect and didn't have everything all figured out. it was a truly unexpected and delightful read.

Lila & Max kept me laughing throughout. I loved their story from beginning to end. I thought it was a little weird though how he never really gave her any direction about her position. For instance, when she was supposed to take calls and then forward his phone to the receptionist; however, he never told her how to address callers or forward the phone. I also, thought it was a little weird that she started the same day she went into the building, but then it would have messed up some of the plot. Just little things that seemed a little off when you think about it that don't seem as realistic, but the book was still an amazing read. There is some editing that was missed, but it still didn't take away from the story.
