Their chemistry is as undeniable as it is unwelcome, more a ticking time bomb than a blossoming romance for Amy, who prides herself on professionalism. But as sparks fly and tempers flare, she finds herself drawn to Ben’s depth hidden beneath his bossy exterior. It’s a push and pull of desire versus duty.

Caught between a desire for independence and the growing allure of Ben, Amy must navigate office dynamics, personal ambitions, and the messy entanglement of hearts. A weekend company retreat becomes a catalyst, testing boundaries and uncovering vulnerabilities they’re forced to confront. Kingston is a typical driven lawyer while his new assistant, Skye, is a bit of a dreamer. She wants only to earn enough money so she can travel the world. He wants to earn lots of money because he can. She gets him to question his motives and soften his edges by being her quirky, funny self. Entertaining read! Fun banter!

She is spontaneous, a dreamer, carefree, a good girl who wants to find her forever. He is a Greek God macho alpha who has not problems having girls, a player that never had or want a girlfriend or commitments. He is the boss, She the assistant, what happens when this two meet, a wonderful romantic story, full of laughter, sexual chemistry. Love that they didn't fight against their desires, tha banter between them and the complicity. Would love more in the story. This author always captivates interest to a degree that you finish a story and can't wait for the next one. Until Remy and Juni 😍😍😍❤️❤️🤎 can't wait

Kingston, for someone who is intelligent, certainly spends a ton of time in the fog of denial. Poor Skye spends almost as much time there also. Their banter is hilarious, their jealously off the charts, and love the phone call Kingston receives from Pool Draft of Geronimo Productions in regard to Skye's appearance on the dating show. The only thing more telling than that are his reactions to Skye's encounters with Whittaker Matlock. Can't wait for book 3 and do hope there is a book 4 as Gabe is one of the four lawyers and Bachelors and, therefore, deserves a story. And, I would like an explanation of the past relationship between Gabe and Marie. It does appear to more a little more than a young teen's crush on an older guy.

I couldn’t get into their relationship even though there was so much promise. I was looking forward to their banter (since I read the first book “ Don’t Quit the Day Job”) but instead I found that there was a lot of time spent having conversations with other people. Especially from Skye. There was the one scene when she was at the bar and excused herself to go to the bathroom where she called her friend and spent a few pages talking to her. It would have been nice to have more pages spent having the main couple together. But this is my takeaway I’m sure other readers weren’t bothered by it. For me it just didn’t hit the same mark as the first book. I’m kind of looking forward to Juniper’s story “I Won’t Be in on Monday” because she is the only one of the assistants to actually be good and qualified for the job - just hoping that there isn’t too much stress placed on her appearance.

I got to admit this book was good and it kept me interested and honestly hooked so for an example yesterday I was reading this before work and I had to put it down but could not and then throughout the day I could not forget about it and I picked up last night but sleep got to me but anyways other then having obstacles I would have read this book in one sitting but other then that I loved this book and would recommend you to read this and p.s. for a book like this you feel all different kind of emotions reading this book.

This is such a funny story . Kingston is the ultimate bachelor. He is interested in making money and being the number one firm with his partners. Shy is a sassy sexy vixen who has a list of things she want to do with her life. She works hard to get her goals met but then Kingston happens to turn her world upside down. he is her boss and he is adamant about the fact they aren’t going to fall for each other. Never say Never ! I really enjoy ready about their crazy relationship and how they became friends during their crazy relationship. It is a sweet story with a lot of craziness mixed in. I would give it more than 5 stars if possible.

The absolute best part of this book was watching Kingston convince himself he wasn't dating Skye or falling for her! She's dead right when she calls him a good. I don't know how everyone couldn't see how bad they had it for each other. This book was very funny and I laughed so much. Honestly, the only thing that was a little disappointing was the rushed and slightly abrupt ending. There's a bonus chapter that kind of makes up for it, but I would have preferred it just being part of the book. Except for this, the book is solid and an enjoyable Rom-Com, which is what Jaimie is best at. Easily a standalone, but it has spoilers for the first book.

Not the Boss of the Year by J.S. Cooper was an excellent revisit to this series. Kingston Chase was hilarious in his obliviousness with what had hit him when the spunky red headed Skye walked into his world and turned it upside down. I think it will likely only be topped when Juniper gets her makeover in the next book, I can’t wait for that. Remington is not gonna know what hit him. These men are too funny, and I love the girls club they have formed. It’s hilarious how they get together to gripe about how awful their bosses are while the bosses are all “I bet they are missing us” and then they call and it’s like “newsflash we don’t think the world revolves around you. Only you are deranged enough to think that. Oh but I may have just landed you an account you wanted through no help from you. But now I’m going back to my girls cause I got a life outside of you.” To quote that 70s show….BURNNN!!!! But as always Kingston does get out of his own way and finally give us the HEA we all love. I also loved that Skye was going to get to travel at the end of the book. I totally understand that wanderlust she has going on; but to pair it with a love of history in a heroine was an inspired choice because those are the people who will get the most out of actually traveling. They will study about their destination, read up on all the cool things and historical stuff, and get the most out of their time. I cannot wait for this series to continue. It has been so fun and I both highly recommend it and highly suspect the next one will become my favorite. I love seeing a tomboy get to have a Cinderella moment and I can’t wait to see Juniper’s transformation.
