The viral TikTok stalker dark romance, burning with high heat, hilarious banter, and a love story like you’ve never seen before. Can you handle the ride? I want someone with a soul as black as night.
Someone who would burn the world down for me and not lose a single minute of sleep over it. Trauma nurse Aly Cappellucci doesn’t need any more kinks. She likes the one she’s landed on just fine.
To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom . She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body.
She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality. I want things most people don’t, craving darkness and depravity instead of light and love. Josh Hammond has spent his life avoiding the limelight, but his online persona is another story.
At night, he posts masked thirst traps for his millions of fans to drool over, but one follower has caught his eye: Aly. After reading a comment begging him to break into her house wearing a mask, he decides to take her up on her offer. Together, Aly and Josh live out their darkest fantasies, unaware that Aly has captured the attention of someone else.
Someone with far more sinister intentions than a little light stalking. As Josh turns from predator to protector and the stakes heighten, he must ask himself how far he’s willing to go for the woman he’s obsessed with. Lights Out is a fast-paced dark romance with a morally gray male lead.
Some themes and scenes may be disturbing to listeners. Please check the TWs at the beginning of the book.

If you’re into dark romance with a seriously exciting twist, you have to check out *Lights Out*! This book is a wild ride from start to finish. The sexy masked man at the center of the story is both mysterious and incredibly hot, adding a whole new layer of intrigue. The spicy scenes in this book are off-the-charts amazing—think steamy, intense, and totally addictive. Her knack for mixing intense emotions with thrilling suspense makes this read totally unputdownable. The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the plot twists keep you guessing. It’s a mix of passion, danger, and a bit of the forbidden that’ll have you hooked. If you love a good romance that’s as edgy as it is steamy, *Lights Out* is definitely for you. Buckle up for a thrilling ride you won’t want to end!
Is it possible to be a morally grey cinnamon roll??? Apparently it is 🤣 And it was amazing. This book was so unhinged and funny and spicy. If you liked Butcher and Blackbird, I would give this a try!! Dark rom com vibes with lots of banter and the opposite-of-vanilla spice. All of the medical field girlies will appreciate those references too. One of my favorite reads of the year! Read if you love: ▫️ Top tier banter ▫️ Masked stalker ▫️ Dark romcom ▫️ Kinky spice ▫️ Computer hacker x ER nurse Genre/type: Dark Romcom Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Series or standalone: Standalone Tropes or themes: Computer Hacker x ER Nurse, Banter, Masked Men, Stalker, Kinky Spice, Hand Necklace, Ex’s Roommate, Cats, Morally Grey, Cinnamon Roll
Overall rating is 3.25 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The audiobook narration was good, and probably one of the few reasons I continued with the book, instead of DNF-ing it before the midway point of the storyline. There was an interesting addition to the book midway through that mixed things up, but then the story started dragging. It definitely could’ve been 100-150 pages shorter and been fine. The humor wasn’t my favorite, it was unfortunately more cringe than anything most of the time. There were a few moments where I giggled though, so not awful but also not incredible.
Wow where do I even begin?! This was hilarious and hot and dark. The audio was absolutely phenomenal. I think this may be one of my favorite reads of the year! Definitely check your trigger warnings at the start of the book but wow I loved this!!! Yes this isn’t like SUPER dark but it is a darkish romance. Josh may be one of my favorite mmc’s ever! I loved every single second of this and can’t wait to read more by this author!!
Dear Navessa Allen: I need 17 more of these ASAP. The banter is on point. The plot is engaging. The details are lined up like the proverbial ducks. AND THE SPICE!!! 🥵 This book deserves six stars, but alas, I can only give five. If you liked Butcher & Blackbird, you’ll have a good time reading this.
Lights Out is hot, dark, campy deliciousness and it dragged me out of a raging book slump. A masked hero with a secret who gets ✨in touch✨ with himself while streaming, but is also a little unhinged, but is also a golden retriever underneath the mask. A heroine who has seen some of the most devastating things in life and as a trauma nurse, so she’s a little more open minded to the unhinged. I don’t know it just worked for me. It was hot. It was funny. It was a little suspenseful. Just overall entertaining. I will say the end started to lull a little bit for me because I was waiting for something else to happen as I saw this is a series, but I’m imagining it must be standalone of some sort. Anyway. I highly recommend if you like murder-y vibes, but hilarious and spicy. Also I listened to the audiobook and the voice actors KILLED this story. I think I would have enjoyed reading it with my eyeballs as well, but the dry dark humor hit so much harder from the actors. I swear I was cackling at some points because of the comedic timing of the author’s writing and the delivery of it from the actors was SPOT ON. PLEASE heed the trigger warning list that’s read at the start of the audio/in the book.
I kept seeing this book and read reviews, finally gave in. So glad I did! This book was great, funny, some “aww” moments. The spice level was good but the storyline was better. Took my time reading it, didn’t want it end. I definitely recommend it!!
Aly is an ER nurse with a non existent love life and a need for release which is currently fueled by fantasies of a masked vlogger, who just happens to be her ex hook up’s best friend and roommate Josh in real life. She had no idea, but after an exhaustive shift at work, and a few glasses of wine, she texts her ex requesting a roll play roll in the hay. Her ex turns her down, as he’s already moved on and has a new girlfriend, but not before he shows the text to Josh. That unleashes a whole new obsession and adventure for both Josh and Aly. This was an addictive book experience filled with excitement, romance, spice, great banter, edge of your seat spine tingling twists that keep you awake way beyond your bedtime for the sake of needing to know how it all ends. Definitely worth it!
