Six teens murdered. A suspect behind bars. A desperate father.
In a case this shadowy, the truth is easy to hide. Psychiatrist Dr. Gwen Moore is an expert on killers.
She’s spent a decade treating California’s most depraved predators and unlocking their motives—predators much like the notorious Bloody Heart serial killer, whose latest teenage victim escaped and then identified local high school teacher Randall Thompson as his captor. The case against Thompson as the Bloody Heart Killer is damning—and closed, as far as Gwen and the media are concerned. If not for one new development… Defense attorney Robert Kavin is a still-traumatized father whose own son fell prey to the BH Killer.
Convinced of Thompson’s innocence, he steps in to represent him. Now Robert wants Gwen to interview the accused, create a psych profile of the killer and his victims, and help clear his client’s name. As Gwen and Robert grow closer and she dives deeper into the investigation, grave questions arise.
So does Gwen’s suspicion that Robert is hiding something—and that he might not be the only one with a secret.

I really loved the plot of this book! At times, the fmc annoyed me a little bit. But I really loved playing the guessing game. I never did figure it out until the end! Let's talk about that ending...like what???? I never saw that coming! Not a bad little thriller! I'd recommend it!
This book kept me wanting more. It read easy and honestly surprised me. I couldn't figure it out. Well done. Such a damn good book!!
I read this book in one day. I couldn’t put it down! I really liked the story and the characters. Interesting, dark, twisted. 5 stars!
Pretty good story but kinda fell flat and rushed at the end. Loved the accuracy of type one diabetes mentions.
Great story. It was a tad confusing at first bc of the way it’s written in both first and third POV. Yet once the book started flowing it became easier to understand the writing style. The book is about a psychiatrist whose niche is clients with violent tendencies. Some just fantasize about harming others, and some have or are currently doing it. One day she wakes up to a missed call on her personal cell phone from a patient who repeatedly tells her he wants to kill his wife. Then there is a teenage boy who after being abducted for 7 weeks by a serial killer returns home and names a docile elder teacher from his private HS as the killer. Lastly there is a criminal lawyer whose son was abducted and murdered by the same serial killer just 9 months prior who decides he’s going to represent the teacher behind bars because he’s confident the man is innocent. The lawyer & psychiatrist work together to figure out the profile of the serial killer. It’s quite the twisted tale. A lot of intrigue and some twists. All evidence of reading pointed to one person and it turned out to be unexpected. I enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars ⭐️ is bc I would’ve liked a better ending for the main characters.
The author does a great job keeping the story moving and adding a lot of twists and turns. I recommend.
This book had me hooked from chapter two! I appreciate the twists in this book. I really appreciate that there wasn’t an overkill in the twists, it was just the right amount! Great read overall.
A.R. Torres did it again for me. A brilliant and twisting thriller . Just when I thought I had it figured out, the twist changed it all. I highly recommend.
