This program is read by the author. The empowering, inspiring, patriarchy-smashing first book by podcast star Drew Afualo. Drew Afualo is best known as the internet’s “Crusader for Women” and is at the head of a new generation of entertainment’s rising stars.
Loud is part manual, part manifesto, and part memoir. It makes it clear that behind her fearsome laugh is a mission and a life philosophy, a strategy for self-confidence from the inside out, and a pathway to once and for all remove men from the center of how women and femmes think about themselves. Afualo has amassed more than nine million followers across her social platforms.
When she first started creating content in 2020, she realized that men on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and other apps were creating sexist content aimed at disparaging women, and also containing rampant fatphobia, racism, and other forms of bigotry, with very real-life consequences. It didn’t take long for her to step into the role of unofficial watchdog for misogyny, and her signature laugh is now recognized as a feminist call to arms, a summoning cry to rid the internet (and our hearts, minds, and lives) of “terrible men” and create a space to fight outdated patriarchal ideals. A Macmillan Audio production from AUWA Books.

It’s a very good book and well written. I’ve followed her online for awhile and I thought I knew how the book would be, but it’s so much deeper than that.
Being a fan of Drew on social media I knew that this book would be a masterpiece. However, it is even greater! The wisdom that’s inside is incredible. It is both educational and entertaining. This is a must read for everyone (even terrible men)
I love Drew. I have been following her for a few years now and relate to her and her content so much so it was a no-brainer when I heard about this book. It is written and edited so well, you really are able to experience Drew’s essence throughout the entirety of the book. I wish every girl and woman between the age of 14 and 94 would read this.
Ive just gotta say it and get this out of the way. Pili, if you ever hurt her, you have a gang ladies coming after ya. (lmfao). EVERYONE RUN and get. this. book. I got the hardback and audio version because I need both and I must support Drew. She's the best and frames many of my thoughts perfectly. Thank you Drew. Thank you. We needed this book.
The book is fine, Drew is great overall as a person but the book is a little repetitive and hard to stay interested in
A crusader against misogyny and the patriarchy, Drew hits the nail on the head. Everything stated in the book is spot on with regard to how society treats women and how we can rise above it. Men are more likely to disrespect you If you aren’t thin, white, able-bodied, and attractive. I’ve been on both sides of the spectrum and I noticed how I was treated when I was overweight vs when I lost all of it. They love to scream “not all men” when you call them out on their disrespect, but if you were locked in a room with 100 snakes and 99 of them were poisonous and only 1 was not, would you be willing to take that chance? That’s what it’s like being a woman today. I admire Drew’s tenacity writing a book that resonates deeply with so many people. And I also love how quickly she puts terrible men in their place. As we all should ✨
This book is written so thoughtfully and it's message is so impactful! I would read this over and over again
