A Christian friend of mine recommended this book and it was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed the way they included biblical versus and related it to God. It’s definitely a book that you keep and look back on. It’s applicable to everyone in some shape or form.
Good examples. Good for any age
This incredible book was recommended to me by my Christian, biblically principaled therapist. Never before has such a book been so valuable and life-changing for me! This is the updated version.
Very well written and informative. Shipped quickly. Everyone needs to read this book on establishing boundaries in their lives.
I took a long time to read this book. I needed to think through the concepts and come back and re-read it several times. I’m glad I did. I loved this book. It was clear, based on biblical principles, and had great examples to illustrate the principles taught. It lays everything out in a way that makes it easier to implement in life - and warns that it will be a difficult change to implement, and explains all the difficulties you might face, and why, and why it’s worth it. I’m excited to learn more and practice these principles. I learned more about God, myself, and the people around me. I wish I could meet the authors. They were so helpful.
I have been privileged to hear both authors speak at conferences and meetings - they are brilliant and compassionate!! This book is one I have recommended to literally dozens of people because we all need healthy boundaries, and this is the definitive book on the subject!!
Excellent book! Wish I had this right when my bous turned 18! As a parent its hard to know boundaries when is too much, when is too little etc. Tough love is a tough lesson for the parent as well but it makes you both grow. The important thing is to pray before during and after you read this. Prayer changes everything. Ive grown while reading this book and ask God to open my heart and to reveal the things that I was doing or saying wrong. Yep sometimes as parents it can be us and that is a hard pill to swallow but of you can get over yourself and realize that its not about you but its about helping your child move into adulthood and removing yourself you will be more at peace. May you enjoy your new life as you read this book. Ive read chapter 1-3 over several times thays how impactful it is. The parent where the parents go to the therapist to complain about their son and he tells them…, ha I am not a spoiler buy the book or get kindle unlimited its on there. Be at peace and go live your life parents bc your adults kids are!!
Very heavy on Biblical reference, however the subject matter is very appropriate and accurate! Even if you do not participate actively in a Church, this book offers great insight into setting, maintaining and respecting boundaries!
