Nico and Everleigh are by far one of my favorite couples that Monica has written!! Their chemistry was so tangible and I felt like I was living the story. Loved it.

I am a sucker for a book that is forced proximity and this book checked all the boxes. It was a quick read that kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. I loved Everleigh and Nico, the meet cute, the buildup, and everything in between was amazing. The secondary characters added another layer of perfection to this story, and I really hope they all get their own books in this series! This book is definitely a slow burn, but once the fire is officially lit…WOW. That’s all I can say! This was an all-around great college romance, and I can’t wait for the next one!

I'm not sure if I pre-ordered this or won it somehow, but last night I noticed it on my Kindle lol. I'm a football lover so I dove right in! I don't remember ever reading anything by this author, but I was struggling with the writing. It's not like it was badly written, I wasn't connecting with the plot or characters I guess, so it was slow going for me, and then I felt there wasn't a lot of chemistry between Nico or Ever, it was awkward. I also felt we are missing so much more backstory and history of our main characters as well as them having conversations about general likes and dislikes.

Repeat, but nevertheless a good read. I always like it when the two main characters, who might have problems, are strong and realize they don’t need to act stupid, by trying to make each other jealous. But they look inward and work on themselves. I also enjoyed the yoga insert, because it’s known to help athletes. Now for the others to get their HEA🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The tension in this book is extraordinary. The push and pull between Ever and Nico was intense and addictive. I did feel like this story was setting the scene for follow-up books in between moments, and I can't decide whether it adds to my anticipation for the next books or whether it took away from the main plot line. I enjoyed the friendships that were developed in this story and the sibling banter that was involved. And while I enjoyed the little bits of drama that were interwoven throughout, I did feel like there was something missing. I haven't been able to pin down what it was but I can honestly say there was a lot to like about this book. If you are after a slow-burn sporys romance with a reformed playboy who has a fun and entertaining group of friends then this is a book for you.

Everleigh is my girl. She is given so many obstacles yet she never stops fighting. First the room, then the car, then an undeniable attraction. It's clear from day one Nico is messed up by this girl and doesn't know how to handle it. Player down!!!! But it showed Nico grow from the beginning of this all the way to the end..but the end result is when you find the right one you won't settle you'll do anything to keep them!!! Go Everleigh and Nico!!!

This is the first book in the Kings of Campus series by Monica Murphy and my first book by this author. Sports Romance and New Adult romance are my jam, so the blurb totally caught my attention and I would like to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Just a little FYI - if specific genres are your jam this also hits Forced Proximity, Roommates to Lovers, Opposites Attract, and specifically Football Romance. Everleigh is a transfer student that found herself unexpectedly homeless after her housing fell through at her new university. While trying to rally and find herself a new place to stay, she overhears three guys talking about a room becoming available for rent and she approaches them in order to rent the room. (And this is the only part of the book where I was like....hmmmm, no college student I know would do this because she follows them home to ask about the room with no clue who they are or where they are going.  I work on for a university and this goes against everything these ladies learn and are constantly told!  SAFETY but I digress.) Little does she know how much her life will change. Due to the agreement she made with the three guys, she quickly integrates into their lives, and she fits in pretty well. The relationship between Ever and Nico develops like a lot of real-life relationships - meaning the swoony romance some people expect in a romance novel seems a little played down. It felt more realistic with the attraction between the characters being the primary focus and Ever not wanting to settle for what all the other girls have had before her.   I like the roommate dynamic. I enjoyed that this was an engaging, quick read (an afternoon is all you need!) and I will be looking for the next book in the series.  (Gotta see what happens to the roomies!  Especially Frank - I hope he finds everything his heart desires.)
