About This Book

I have two goals this season: 1. Prove to the Seattle Serpents I’m not a complete screwup. 2.

Stay away from the nanny. I’m hardly able to keep myself out of trouble, let alone a seven-year-old, but when my estranged brother gets a life sentence, I have no choice but to clean up my act and take the kid in. It’s all going according to plan…until I’m forced to hire Quinn Benson.

She’s everything I need to avoid—flighty, messy, creating chaos everywhere she goes. But she makes my niece happy, so I hire her anyway, keeping our interactions as brief as possible, even when she moves in with me. Thing is, the more she’s around, the more I want her around—and not just as a nanny.

I can’t seem to stop falling into bed with her even when I know I shouldn’t. Quinn goes against everything I’m trying to accomplish, but I can’t stay away. This might be one delayed penalty I don’t mind serving… DELAYED PENALTY is a standalone hockey romance novel.

There's a single guardian a bit on the grumpy side, a sunshine nanny who doesn't take any crap from him, an adorable little girl you'll want to hug and keep safe, ridiculous teammates who make way too crude jokes, plenty of steam, and a happy ending.

I really would love to post my full review here but I have to be 'zon' good so here is the mild version. FAV author of mine & also I have read all of the previous books + well all the books from the author! You could say I am a big fan :) Lets dive right in because this book got me feeling some way. I was all over the place....I felt as RECKLESS as these two were! sheeesh! Adam & Quinn really define the nanny/boss trope because in the end they took what they wanted without even thinking back. Did it bite them in the buns in the end? Only a little. Like I said these two are very reckless, we have Quinn who is the youngest sibling but comes from a loving mother & father, just her siblings are not nice. She might be or feel a little lost, her last job well we won't talk about it but it did not end well. She definitely is a little questionable. But once you find out what shaped her the way she is, it will break your heart but also maybe want to be mad at her just a tiny bit. I am not saying not the same for the Hero but yeah. Adam is a former player, hard, stubborn and keeps his insides closed off. When he gets surprised with a niece he never knew he had, that throws a huge wrench in everything. God did I love her though, sweetest human of all! She might be the very glue that holds them all together. This book kept me on the edge I won't lie, the sneaking around I was just waiting for that build up. I do want to say that these two really just fell for one another at the same time but had no idea. I love that he was so protective of her, and I love that she brought out a different side of Adam and his niece. She was what they were both missing. I loved everything about this book. The writing style, the rom-com in this, the previous players & their group texts! Can't wait for next!

The BEST.

I truly think the Seattle Serpents are my favorite series from Teagan Hunter. I didn’t think Seattle would surpass the Carolina Comets, but I just cannot get enough of these guys! I was so excited when this book was announced, I was so ready to see a different side of Hayes! And boy did Teagan Hunter deliver with his book. The situation Hayes is thrust into isn’t ideal, but he does what he has to do to make it work, and provide a better environment and life for his niece. He seems like the wild child, but this book shows such a different side of Hayes, he’s thoughtful and caring and loves HARD. Quinn is the perfect complement to Hayes. She brings out the brighter sides of him as well as his niece, and they bring out a strength in her that she didn’t even notice she was missing. Every single piece of this book was fantastic. 10 out of 10 with this one!! And I’m now dyinggg for the next book!!

How I love Hayes and how he saw Quinn. I love how Quinn helped Flora open up to the world. I love how Flora helped Hayes get focused. The chemistry was delightful. To summarize, I loved this book. The characters were interesting and a little messy… just the way I like them best. Teagan’s books are always so much fun. I haven’t read the Carolina Comets series yet but that is next on my list.

I love this story! Hayes's life has been upended, and his normal troublemaking self has turned a bit grumpy. But still, you can see how strong his love for Flora is. As unexpected as she was, he's willing to do anything to keep her safe & make her smile. Which is how he ends up falling for Quinn! She pulls Flora out of her shell from the first meeting, and it's adorable to see these two together. When all three of them are bonding as an unconventional family... my heart is happy! Hayes & Quinn bring 🔥🔥 and fun and love ... and I enjoyed it from start to finish. 💚 Also! The group text game in this series continues to strengthen. These guys are HILARIOUS & I enjoy them so much! 😍😍😍

Teagan's writing is so unique and beautiful and each book has so much depth and backstory in it. I adored Hayes and Quinn. They were made for each other and their moments had so much chemistry and passion. I couldn't get enough of them and each glimpse I got of them had me swooning so hard. Little Flora was so cute and I loved seeing her acting like the little kid she was. Totally a must read!

This book felt a lot heavier than some of the other books by this author. Quinn, Hayes and Flora all had some emotional baggage to overcome and they found the strength to do that together. Hayes and Quinn were more similar than either of them would have thought. They both were a little wild and their mutual need to be more responsible bonded them. They both found their reason to grow up in Flora. When Hayes took custody of her, he was determined to put the mistakes of his past behind him. But Flora needed more than just him and by hiring Quinn as her nanny, he brought some fun and light into their home. I loved the character growth in both Quinn and Hayes. I loved their banter and the chemistry between them. Both their relationships with Flora played a huge role in the plot of this book. I really liked the way they supported each other and the way Hayes stepped up for her with her family. This was a good read. It was a book I’d waited on since Hayes appeared in the Carolina Comets series. It had a good amount of hockey and I loved the group text between the “Seattle Singles”. I can’t wait to see what happens next with that little glimpse of Fox’s future at the end!

Hayes needs a nanny, Quinn needs a job. Hayes is not sure about Quinn, but Flora actually likes and interacts with her... so he hires Quinn. The connection between Flora and Quinn is amazing. Teagan writes the best kids. The more Flora came out of her shell, the more I loved her. The way that connection helped Hayes to connect with Flora was awesome. I love how perceptive Flora is. The chemistry between Hayes and Quinn is hot. They compliment each other really well. They pick each other up when the other one is down and they have each other's backs when needed. The way Hayes stood up for Quinn when she needed it was awesome. The relationship develops very naturally and the misunderstanding that happens is sorted very quickly (with the help of Flora). Another awesome book by Teagan.
