I’m especially partial to love-to-hate billionaire romances; more so when I have little idea where the author is heading. That said, I was convinced I’d picked up on the gist of the plot fairly quickly, only to be thrown off-kilter. Swan gives her readers the rough with the smooth in her latest fast-paced standalone novel, The Bonus. Her masterminding the laugh-out-loud with what-the-heck-just-happened scenarios, hit me exactly where I wanted them to. The ooh and aah moments either had me grinning from ear to ear or tearing up. Yes, heart-racing emotions abound.      Swan’s hero, Gabriel Ferrara, is a perfectionist, and an overly demanding boss on top of that. Not to mention he’s drop-dead gorgeous with all the attributes that go with his Italian heritage. But wait! Not everything is sunshine and rainbows on the homefront, which ups the angst level to the want of a good reading device bashing! You can’t help liking him though. His inner thoughts put me in the picture, helping me understand his position regarding family duty, and to be honest, I had difficulty getting my head around what was expected of him.  I admired Grace Porter, Gabriel’s PA. She never felt sorry for herself: certainly being a grab the bull by the horns kind of person. Even though Gabriel goes all-out to provoke her, she’s strong-willed and gives him as good as she gets. Ooh my, the sassy banter is nothing less than magnificent, but something’s been brewing since day one. We find out how she feels, yet what about her grumpy employer who’d come to rely on her over the years? You know when a spanner is thrown into the works, the backlash it causes? Her life-changing decision with secrecy attached does just that. So, the jaw-dropping plot twist didn’t just make me want to get to the end faster than fast, flipping the pages into silly-clock hours was what it was–sleep deficit be…oops, enough said!  Family-orientated romance is also my thing and although I hated a relative–not saying who, Swan knocked the secondary character, plot development and steaminess out of the park. How Grace and Gabriel affronted specific issues frustrated me, only to make their story feel even more authentic. In all its epicness, the cherry on the top was exclusive bonus scenes from Gabriel’s POV. Bravo, Swan!

Review: I have been so excited waiting for this book! We met Gabriel throughout the Miles High Club series and he was always a turd, so I knew I needed his story. It was so good and definitely worth the wait! I have missed Tee's words, and reading them put the biggest smile on my face! Grace has been Gabriel's assistant for 7 years. She's also had a crush on him for 7 years. Realizing it's time for her to move on and find love and happiness for herself, she buys a home out of state and turns in her letter of resignation. Only Gabriel refuses to accept it and gives her the Bonus of a lifetime! Oh my gosh, the fire between these two! The banter, the chemistry, and then the groveling!!! Everything was chef's kiss! Grace is sassy and won't put up with Gabriel's BS. Gabriel is headstrong and won't give up until he gets what he wants. I went through all the emotions with this one, but the roller coaster ride was soooo worth it! I was laughing out loud numerous times, crying, getting mad and swooning all within short periods of time. Gabriel as a dad...absolute perfection! He was a fish out of water in the best way. I loved every minute of it! I'm also secretly hoping that Debbie and Mark will get a book...😏🤞🥰 I listened to the audiobook by CJ Bloom & Sean Masters. They were the perfect Grace & Gabriel bringing these two, plus all the side characters and accents to life perfectly! The duet narration was a surprise and I absolutely loved it! It really immersed you into the story. This book is absolutely worth the HEA and everyone needs to read it!

I love all of TL Swans books. I was excited to get this book and started reading it immediately. I honestly had a hard time getting into it in the beginning as I felt it jumped all over the place. And I almost didn’t continue reading it for that reason. But, I’m glad I did. I gave the book four stars out of five only for that reason. I love the Dynamics between Gabriel and Gracie. And I love the interaction with the children. It’s a really good read once you get past the first couple of chapters and I find myself not being able to put the book down. I guess I’m going to have to go to Barnes & Noble to get the book to get the epilogue.

This was a tortious, beautiful love story. The relationship between Grace and Gabriel was raw, explosive, and consuming. I especially loved how Grace evolved. For me, this story had it all, angst, heart-melting, humor, and sizzle. So good! ❤️📖❤️
