Dimitri Hardy and I were never really supposed to be friends. He was a risky, over-the-top investor. I was trying to avoid the glamorous lifestyle my parents had raised me in.
He was fun and laid back. I was wound tight and dramatic. He had his life put together.
I did not. So having Dimitri witness my breakup was a low moment. Especially since my boyfriend was also my professor, and after cheating on me, he decided to make me redo my master's thesis.
But Dimitri saw an opportunity. He offered to assist with my thesis. In exchange, I would help him gain the trust of the upscale town where I'd grown up-one he'd just heavily invested in.
His proposal: Move back home and fake a relationship with him for the summer. Show my town he's trustworthy. Adore one another in public and pretend there's no desire brewing in private.
It seems like an easy plan. But what Dimitri doesn't understand is that a few months in my hometown can ruin you . .
. and one summer of denying my desire of his stolen touches and longing stares just might ruin me too.

Despite their initial agreement subtle shifts in their dynamic awaken unexpected desires complicating their fake relationship.
What begins as a strategic partnership quickly escalates into something more thrillingly complex. Olivia and Alexander find themselves entrapped by the charade they created forced to confront personal truths. Amid power plays and unspoken tensions their hearts might be at stake.

w o w was this story steamy and had you on the edge of your seat a LOT! i love how dimitri is a little mix of all the previous hardys but also turn the dial UP. like i n s t a n t obesession after that first night in the hotel room, which holy that champagne bottle scene. olive needed a good bit more warming up but she got there. and also for a town with a secret society c-lt thing, THEY SURE GOT LOOSE LIPS AROUND OLIVE OMG. tho the community was interesting and also kinda surprised but also not surprised my guess for two other charas being connected to the society was on point. tho anyway, olive’s struggles in this hit home a bit with her lack of confidence once back home & how she felt she doesnt fit/belong anywhere. one thing i do wish we had a bit more of a scene for tho was finding out why olive’s dad treated her the way he did?? like we didnt really have a moment to learn /why/ he’s a jerk to her and excludes her as family for the majority?
I was so sad for this book because it meant the end of the Hardy Boys and honestly I’m still crying over it being over. I LOVE all these men and Shaun Rose did NOT let us down with Dimitri and Olive’s story. I love that we got more toes dipped into secrets we have all been contemplating since corrupted chaos!! The inter connected parts of all these books just makes it all the better. The family group message always brings the laughs and I swear you can like hear the diggings chime of the phone going off while reading. Olive and Dimitri are an unlikely match but Dimitri Hardy is a man who knows what he wants and will always “take a chance and enjoy the dance”. Him loyalty to those he loves and his family in unwavering and we have watched it for a while in his brothers books. So to get to see him get his HEA. just wrapped everything up! I will say he is on same level of unhinged as Cade. so be ready for that unwavering loyalty to also cross over in his need to have it his way!
So bittersweet that the Hardy Brothers series is over, but it went out with a bang! Olive and Dimitri are delish! I love a man who falls first and hard, and that is Dimitri Hardy TO A T! One night with Olive and the man is obsessed & possessive! I am here for it! Also, I will NEVER look at a bottle of champagne the same way again...SO HOT! Olive is such a sweet and relatable FMC. The trying new paths, chasing dreams, not being sure what she wants in life or which direction she wants to go, I feel like so many can relate to that, because I know I can! She struggles with how much she wants Dimitri, but also with wanting to experience more things with possible others....but she can't resist Dimitri, but I mean who could?! PHEW that man! I love their banter, his possessiveness, their push and pull, the small but upscale town dynamics, the suspense, just all of it! Another fantastic one from Shain Rose, & I can't wait for the next series to kick off! I need more Jameson & I am FERAL for Pink and Bane's story!!!!!
Lots of angst in Rose’s latest Hardy Billionaire book. Loved that Dimitri feel first and very hard! Olive was a hot mess in the beginning and struggled with so many different emotions due to her family and personal relationships. Fake relationship or not the spice between these two was chef’s kiss!!! Thank you Shain Rose for another great Hardy Billionaire book!
I can’t believe we’ve reached the end of the Hardy family! It’s bittersweet knowing that this chapter is coming to an end, but let me just say that Shain gave us a great sendoff with Dimitri and Olive’s story. Not only that, but I’m so excited for what’s next in the same universe. Dimitri and Olive have been in each other’s circle for a while now since they’re both best friends with Kee. However, they’ve really never been friends with each other. However, after Olive breaks up with her boyfriend at Kee’s wedding, Dimitri finds himself stepping in and volunteering to be Olive’s rebound. When Olive finds herself in a situation regarding her thesis, Dimitri offers to help with one catch - he needs her to fake date him so he can get in close with her hometown and move his investment forward. This book gave me everything I didn’t know I needed. I absolutely loved how obsessed Dimitri was with Olive and his reassurance of their relationship throughout the book - even when Olive wasn’t sure. Dimitri definitely gave off overprotective Cade vibes. I’m still convinced that no one will match my love for Cade, but Dimitri I think may be second. And the way Shain set up the future - I’m so freaking excited. Overall, I absolutely loved this book. And while you can definitely read this as a standalone, I HIGHLY suggest reading her Tarnished Empire series and the rest of the Hardy Billionaire Brothers to get the most out of this book. Be sure to check this one out if you like billionaire men who are over the top.
