A deep exploration of the neuroscience behind manifestation, with a six-part plan for realizing your dreams For decades the practice of manifestation has been widely dismissed as self-involved, materialistic pseudoscience. But as neuroscientist and recognized compassion leader Dr. James Doty reveals, manifestation introduces us to different possibilities, and it lays the groundwork for a kinder, better world.
Doty grounds us in the practices that change our brain structures: attention, meditation, visualization, and compassion. This mind magic allows us to move through the world in ways that help us see clearly—reclaiming our agency, realizing our dreams, and reaching out to help others along the path. Where previous works about manifestation have focused narrowly on outward success and individual benefit, Mind Magic delivers an openhearted call to make manifestation part of a deeper contribution to healing the problems we face today.
In a world where science and spirituality often seem worlds apart, "Mind Magic: The Neuroscience of Manifestation and How It Changes Everything" bridges the gap with groundbreaking insights. Delving into the intricate workings of the brain, this compelling work illuminates how our thoughts shape reality, harnessing the power of manifestation through scientific principles. As readers journey through its pages, they are empowered with knowledge that transcends traditional boundaries, unlocking the potential within to create a life they've always envisioned.

I loved Into the Magic Shop for the strong storytelling with a fabulous message. This read more like a text book. Lots of fabulous information on the neuroscience behind manifesting. But I wanted more examples of application. The exercises didn’t meet that need for me.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough as it offers powerful tools to enhance wellbeing. It is inspiring, comforting, and led to improvements in my life and my family’s life almost immediately. A big thanks to Dr. Doty for graciously sharing this information with the world.
I read his first book and loved it. I was excited to see this follow-up. The author takes very difficult concepts and explains them in a manner that is easy to understand. Highly recommend.
I purchased the Audible version of this book. I deeply resonate with the content, and truly appreciate the author's incorporation of actual neuroscience into strengthening our connection to Source to unlock our limitless power. That said, it's incredibly difficult to get through the audio version of this book because of the author's narration. The soft-spoken, monotone narration is so dry and emotionless, even when he shares personal stories of failure and devastation. This, combined with all the sciency terminology, requires me to constantly stop, back up and listen again so that I can internalize the content. Normally I can speed through audiobooks because I'm less distracted listening than reading with my eyes...but not with this book! I'd give 5 stars otherwise. This book can be life-changing...but word to the wise: Get the print version!
I have read a number of books on intention and goal-setting, and this is by far the best. I particularly liked the author's explanation of why we self-sabotage. After reading, I moved forward on a writing project I had procrastinated on for months. Even if you don't follow all the exercises, the knowledge and perspective you gain is enough to move forward. Highly recommend- I re-read sections when needed.
Mind Magic is a step-by-step guide on how to manifest through consciousness. By blending insights from neuroscience, psychology, ancient wisdom, and personal stories, Dr. Doty provides readers with effective strategies to reach their dreams and goals. Through candidly discussing his personal struggles, challenges, and setbacks, he establishes a platform to deliver empowering encouragement, encouraging you to rise above your own negative beliefs and circumstances. Dr. Doty highlights that manifesting something cannot be achieved overnight, but rather requires a sincere, heart-felt effort with dedication and patience.
I opened up this book when it arrived and read 50 pages without sitting down! James Doty's compassionate is felt in every word as he walks us through the neuroscience of self-agency and guides us through practices to focus our attention, release the hold of negative self-beliefs, increase self-compassion, and ultimately, fill our lives with greater meaning and joy. What I found most profound in this book are the chapters on releasing the blocks of self-criticism and limiting beliefs. I have spent years doing this inner work myself and have worked with thousands of people to help them release the stories that keep them stuck, struggling, or away from stepping into their full potential for flourishing. I've done a lot of research in this area. I found James Doty's insights on these topics incredibly powerful and offering a clear path anyone can follow to release the inner blocks that hold us back from truly thriving. This book would be a tour de force and a giant contribution if it just focused on these topics, and yet it offers so much more. I have recommended it to so many of my clients and friends since I've read it and have sent dozens of page screenshots to my college-aged daughter and my husband! I really can't recommend this book enough -- it is a giant gift James Doty has given us.
