This book offers a hopeful vision of the future created by our struggles against climate change. The author introduces visionary individuals who are already creating a flourishing world. Through essays, conversations, and art, this book inspires readers to imagine a transformed civilization and find their role in shaping it. This magnificent book is funny and insightful. I’m a fast reader, but I found it best to read this a chapter or two at a time to let the information sink in. There are so many ways we can all contribute to a new climate future, and we can start now. Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Love the approach to climate solutions offered in this book. By coming at it from an optimistic angle we can all get more done.
A smart, positive book that doesn't sugarcoat the truth, but doesn't descend into doomerism. Instead it lays out how much better things will be once we transition to a post-fossil fuel world, and explains how all of us can help get there.
Flipping thru the book when I first got it my eyes landed on a sentence towards the end ... "so, go where there is need and where your heart can find a home" As someone in transition, trying to find my place, how I can best use my skills, I sooooooo appreciate this one sentence and as I continue to read I find inspiration in the poetry, hope, and joy that Dr Ayana Elizabeth Johnson conveys throughout her book. Strongly recommend to my fellow scientists looking to apply their skills in new ways
