Does archaeology agree with Scripture? Is there evidence to support the biblical account? Can archaeology reflect God’s redemptive presence in history?
Yes! In contrast to the biblical skepticism common today, Where God Came Down: The Archaeological Evidence emphasizes agreement between the Bible and archaeology. Using Scripture as his primary ancient text and interpretive tool, author Joel Kramer examines the archaeological record for ten locations recorded in the Bible.
Incorporating an abundance of photos, maps, graphics and illustrations, Kramer expertly lays out the evidence and shows how archaeology speaks for the Bible, not against it. More than that, he delves deeper into the Gospel-significance that ancient, unimportant places are still known to us today because they are the stage where redemption’s story played out on earth—the places Where God Came Down . Are you a teacher/student looking for a resource on archaeology from an unapologetically biblical worldview?
Do you have questions about how the archaeological record agrees with the Bible? Planning a trip to the Holy Land? Already traveled to the Holy Land and want to better understand what you saw?
Do you desire to deepen your Bible study by understanding biblical context? Want to be equipped to give evidence-based reasons for trusting the Bible? If you answer “Yes” to any of these questions, then Where God Came Down: The Archaeological Evidence is a must-read for you!

If you have been to the Middle East, and expecially Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, or Turkey, you know just how rich those lands are with archeological sites. The author provides an interesting and excellent book with plenty of picures of many archeological sites that support the Biblical message. Very interesting
Joel writes the way i think... he starts at the top of the surface and works his way down so the audience can follow along the different time periods. After being in Israel, and visiting many of the sites in the book, this book makes things SO much clearer! his youtube channel is also AMAZING! SO thankful i bought it and i will be setting it out for our guests to also read it!
I received my book today, and I Love it!!! Full of Brilliant photos. You Will Not regret this purchase. So much Hard work and Diligence went into. Thanks Joel P. Kramer for showing Israel and the places in God's Holy Bible to the world.
Bought for my wife as a Christmas present. She's an archeology enthusiast, and we both enjoy the auther's YouTube program, "Expedition Bible." If you've seen that show, you know of Joel Kramer's enthusiasm, integrity and expertise. We were not disappointed! The pictures are clear and the details and descriptions are very educational. It's refreshing to read a book like this from the prospective of an archeologist who wants to inform you and educate you, rather than simply impress you!
I could not put this book down when I started reading it. I love history and true stories. I read the Bible every day and this book was great to read along with the scriptures because it showed you some of the actual places in the Bible that were discovered by archeologists over the years. It makes the places in the Bible come to life. The Biblical discoveries in this book were awesome. Reading this book makes you feel like you are right there with the archeologists when they discovered these 9 places. The facts in this book fall right in line with the scriptures making it such a great book. If you love history and archeology, you will love this book. This is an easy must read book.
If you like the internet video series, you will love this book. I gave it as a gift for my son, but I wound up reading it myself. It is so reassuring to see archeology give life to the Bible. You no longer have to imagine the scenes or look at artists' renderings. These are photographs and floor plans of the temples and sites where the Patriarchs and Jesus walked. You can see what is left of Nebuchadnezzar's palace, or stones of the Second Temple. This is a guide to the Holy Land in a way that you have never seen before.
I recently had the pleasure of reading through this book, and I can't recommend it enough. This book not only addresses the age-old question of whether archaeology aligns with Scripture, but it does so in a compelling and well-researched manner. Kramer's approach, using Scripture as the primary ancient text and interpretive tool, adds so much depth to the discussion. He meticulously examines the archaeological records of locations mentioned in the Bible, and his ability to present this complex information with clarity is truly commendable. The inclusion of numerous photos, maps, graphics, and illustrations further enhances the reader's understanding. What I found most captivating about this book is how it goes beyond simply proving the historical accuracy of the Bible. Kramer delves deep into the Gospel significance of these ancient sites, reminding us that these seemingly unimportant places were the very stage where the story of redemption unfolded. It's a powerful testament to the enduring impact of these locations for believers. He also speaks the truth, with as many false prophets that have started to become more prevalent, I’m thankful for his ability to keep the faith once passed down and doesn’t tickle our ears with fables fit for old women. If you're seeking answers to questions about the Bible's historical accuracy and the alignment of archaeology with Scripture, "Where God Came: The Archaeological Evidence" is a must-read. It's a book that not only provides evidence proving the Bible's authenticity but also weaves a rich narrative of God's redemptive presence in history. This is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the intersection of faith, history, and archaeology. Thank you, I do hope you’ll write more, we love the YouTube channel as well.
I LOVE this book!! The content is easy to understand, the photography is stunning and I trust Joel's knowledge and expertise! This is the 2nd time I'm ordering "Where God Came Down" to give a a gift.
