Enemies-to-lovers? As much as it can be, I suppose

Pirate faes Enemies to lovers Dual first-person POV Kidnapped FMC who never tries to escape Cruel MMC who only makes empty threats towards FMC Multiple explicit sex scenes The book is well written and pacing is consistent, however, I wasn’t a fan. The focus was very much on the FMC and MMC and their “undeniable” bond. The plot was weak and the storyline was uneventful and anticlimactic. Erik is ruthless—but only makes empty threats towards Livia while possessively claiming her as his. And Livia, under distress from being kidnapped, still can’t help but notice how beautiful Erik is and the hard planes under his shirt. And when she’s frightened she might just hold his hand. Livia never forms any sort of plan to escape; it never crosses her mind that she might want to find a way to go back home. To defy. To fight. She never even has any vengeful thoughts. She just goes about her days being curious about the enemy land and the Ever King. There was something off-putting about the push-and-pull of their relationship. Erik wanting to kill Livia’s dear father, her wanting to have sex with Erik. They’re intimate and then she goes right back to fake-hating him, only to want him again and again. And then they end up loving each other.

fun witty and steamy

This was a very enjoyable read. I liked the different world setup then I feel so many other series have. The romance was very enjoyable and the steam was solid. I’m excited to see what happens next!

This was everything I needed to pull me out of a reading slump. Great world building characters actually had character and depth. Romance was exactly where it needed to be. Battle scenes were fierce. And the voice actors could not have been any better, totally captured each character. I wish I had found this series sooner, and I hope the author just keeps building off of these books. It's a wonderful read or listen!

Brilliant, fascinating, and inspiring!

Alright, why it took me so long to get to this book, I will never know. Thanks to L.J. Andrews and her crew for kicking me into gear with the release of book three in this series. Without it, I might have missed out. And what a travesty that would have been, lol. The Ever King is book one in the Ever Seas series and follows the next generation from Ms. Andrews Broken Kingdom series. Our FMC, Livia, meets our broody bad boy Erik when they are children. She, the daughter of the king that killed his father, and he the son of the Sea Fae that attacked her people. There is a moment between them, a sweetness that foreshadows more than even I was prepared for when it came to this book. Fast forward ten years and things get REALLY good! Now, I won't ruin it for you, but I will say you aren't going to see any of it coming. The twists and turns this book takes you on are so damn perfect I couldn't put the book down. I was seriously glued to my kindle for every page. I stayed up WAY too late for 'just one more chapter.' And when it was done? I was downloading book two within seconds. L.J. Andrews creates a world and characters that you find yourself worrying over. Feeling for. And loving just as much as they love each other. It was such an amazing trip to watch this fascinating couple grow and learn to love not only each other but themselves. To toss aside the shackles that come with what they thought they knew and embrace each other mind, body, and soul. It was beautiful and fascinating and I loved every moment of it. In conclusion, read this book. Plain and simple. You are going to want to be a part of this journey, I promise. L.J. Andrews is a brilliantly talented writer and her world is so remarkable and bewitching that you are going to regret missing out. I know I am forever changed thanks to this book and I can't wait to see how the rest of the series plays out. :D

I enjoyed this story with all the characters that were within this book. The main characters were Livia and Erik. Livia is a fae from the earth kingdom. She is their princess. When she was little she meet a young boy that was in the dungeons of the kingdom. She went to the dungeon often and told stories to the young boy. One day he tells her not to come back there again. So later in life she meets him again. Erik is the Ever King and a fae. He has a magical gift. He wants revenge against the earth kingdom. So when he gets through to the earth kingdom he see the princess and decide to take her. This was a fun story to read. It had action, adventure, suspense and mystery throughout. There were a few giggles within. This is a first in the series. I saw this book in my Kindle Unlimited and decided to try it. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

oh. now this was good. do not hesitate !

All the feels for pirate tales. Sea shanties. And an epic tale. Livia is the beloved daughter and heir of the Earth Far. Erik the brutal King of the Ever. This tale was long and delicious. With tons of world building and loveable characters. I couldn’t put this book down. It had all the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️, which was beautifully built up to. Not so much of a slow burn as … a deliberate burn that built through many turns. Erik is brutal and ruthless with much to discover under his rigid exterior. I think this book has my heart. ❤️ I highlighted so many Juicy quotes from our Bloodslinger that I don’t know if I’ll ever fully get over him. I enjoyed that this book didn’t have the “fluff” that some authors have. I liked that instead of two people obviously ignoring their desires, our MC’s listened to their hearts. It made the story more realistic and absorbable. This was such an easily enjoyable read. Alls I will leave you with now is: read the damn book. ❤️
