Amazon Best Seller • An international bestseller published in more than 30 languages “If you’ve ever resisted good changes, you’ll find out why with Wiest’s assistance.” – Forbes “Wiest is realistic. The Mountain Is You is best approached as an exercise in harm reduction rather than a recipe for perfection. Even if you never reach the top of your mountain, you'll gain grace, resilience, and introspection that define modern leadership as you climb.” – Inc.
This is a book about self-sabotage. Why we do it, when we do it, and how to stop doing it—for good. Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors.
This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential. For centuries, the mountain has been used as a metaphor for the big challenges we face, especially ones that seem impossible to overcome.
To scale our mountains, we actually have to do the deep internal work of excavating trauma, building resilience, and adjusting how we show up for the climb. In the end, it is not the mountain we master, but ourselves.
In The Mountain Is You, Brianna Wiest takes readers on an inspiring journey of introspection and growth, tackling the formidable challenge of self-sabotage. Through insightful anecdotes and practical guidance, she unravels the complexities behind self-destructive behaviors and reveals how they stem from deeper unmet needs and subconscious fears. Drawing parallels between the struggles we face and the mountains we must climb, she offers an encouraging perspective on overcoming personal obstacles to achieve self-mastery.
By harnessing the power within, readers are empowered to transform their pain into purpose and live life authentically.
Discover the hidden reasons behind self-sabotage helping you achieve lasting change in your life. Learn to embrace introspection and identify self-destructive patterns cultivating self-awareness and growth. Transform fear and resistance into powerful tools for personal development and fulfillment.

Breaking down the concept of self-sabotage Wiest presents it as a mountain we must climb guiding us to see it not as an obstacle but as an opportunity for self-discovery and empowerment.
Her narrative blends psychological wisdom with an evocative storytelling style encouraging a shift in mindset. At the heart of the book is the empowering message that self-sabotage is not the enemy; rather it is a profound signpost of the unconscious mind signaling unmet needs. I will say, this is the first time I have ever posted a review; especially a positive review. This book, has really changed my way of thinking and perceiving life overall. It has given me the opportunity to take a step back, and evaluate my life, happiness and inner healing. I would most definitely recommend this book to anyone. Especially those looking to find inner peace and healing.
This book has so much truth in it. The best “self-help” book I’ve read in a very long time! Love how she urges the reader to focus on themselves and what changes they can make to overcome their ‘mountain’. Live life to the fullest- not with many endeavors but being present, allowing emotions to come and go, and being responsive in place of reactive. TRANSFORMATIONAL!
This book is so thought provoking and forces you to dive into your inner self. This book is essentially cheap therapy if you're willing to do the inner work. The author was so articulate in the words they wanted to express.
Just finished reading this with my mama. It's not super technical or science based, which makes it an easy read. Some parts are repetitive as other reviews have mentioned, but overall it is an empowering read.
I absolutely loved this book! Offered positive guidance on how to live your best life! Really enjoyed this book 📖
