This book is in some ways a take-off from Marie Kondo's books about "tidying up" (the author's pen name here is Messy Condo, also fun). Rather than being a "how to" book, she talks about underlying concepts of what you're trying to accomplish, which I found more helpful and thought-provoking. It also is very humorous, which helps with such a daunting topic!
There isn’t a lot of fluff or explanation, but just enough to get the points across. Well worth the price and time to read. This book made me think differently about my stuff and what’s left of my life!
It gives basic encouragement for the process. Most of this you've probably heard before.
Reading it now and hoping that I can get started with my döstädning! I love the humorous approach.
Decluttering is always hard especially as you get older. This is a quick, light hearted read. It makes the topic easy to discuss with others and helps you make for good decisions in your effort to declutter. Highly recommend this book and its easy to follow advise.
Author was right on the money with her advice and added enough humor to make the book interesting and worthwhile.
After my dad and his brother passed, I had all my clutter plus their's and I couldn't stand it. I hired an organizer who specializes in ADHD. Life changer. This book was so relatable even after I decluttered. She writes from girlfriend to girlfriend. Highly recommend.
Love this book! I'm not a hoarder, but I AM a total pack-rat. This book gave me the gentle slap in the face I needed. I bought a shredder and now I am a shredding machine! (I have financial records from back in the 80s! Sigh.) Yes, she's kind of foul-mouthed, but, IMHO, that just adds to the humor.
