Terrible plus spoilers
Why did I finish this? Idk. I'm a glutton for punishment. Sunk cost fallacy. I was bored. I wanted to see if it got better. I hated it so much I had to finish to be able to hate it properly. Pick any of the above, but probably reasons 2 and 5. Writing was awful. The only things I actually know about the MMC is that he's big, somehow so big that he cannot sit on a hotel bed without breaking it, which makes absolutely 0 sense seeing as most beds have weight limits of ~500lbs... this dude was NOT 500 lbs. The author tried to claim he had to sleep on the floor because the bedframe would "crumble" under his weight (seriously???), but 2 paragraphs later, he flopped onto the bed. That's just lazy writing. Every scene was abrupt. Started abruptly, ended abruptly. And the DRAMA! Ugh, come on. The drama was basically : MMC - I like her but hate myself so I won't tell her I like her, and apparently I have no idea how to read body language and dont pay attention to people's attitudes and actions, thereby creating a ridiculous amount of drama, but am never held responsible... but don't worry, I do enough self-flaggelation to make up for it. FMC - I've always liked him but also hate myself, and he acts like he wants to be with me pretty much all the time, so... he probably doesn't actually like me, even though he married me. Insert inappropriate manager, who, for some ungodly reason, gets to keep her job at the end, to FMC- he will never love you and you're gross and not tiny and pretty like me and he never wanted you anyway. And that's it.
Loved it!
I truly love how obsessed Cole was with Jo. I love how we get to see them grow together and learn one another’s needs. It took me a bit of time to truly get into the book, but once I did, I was hooked. One of my favorite books I’ve read this year and Cole has to be one of my favorite book boyfriends. Give it a read!
Big man soft heart
This book both echoes WWAM by Mariana Zapata and isn’t like it at all. The premise is similar (marriage to Canadian + big football player) but the tone is unique and interesting. Both Characters were well fleshed out and flawed in their own way. It does jump right into the middle of the story so push through and you’ll catch up!
a confusing read
I liked the idea of it. The male main character having the body issues instead of the woman. The groveling was nice. The story was just not told in a good manner. The characters thoughts were all over the place and it was such a confusing read. It went from one pov to another in a single chapter which sometimes added to the confusion. The sentences just didn’t make sense sometimes. Idk I liked the idea of the book just not the book itself. -jesi laforge.

I loved this book Cole and Jo I just couldn't get enough. I wanted to just give them a big hug. They are an absolute match❤️❤️❤️
Great Premise
I love the premise. A marriage of convenience, years of separation, but they’ve always loved each other, and get their HEA. But, it felt…unpolished? This is the first I’ve read from this author, so I don’t know if it’s just their writing style, but it felt to me like an draft that needed another edit or two. There’s a little too much stream-of-consciousness for my taste. Again, a great story and idea, but the execution was not my cup of tea. I’m open to trying more from this author, though.
great plot, needs an editor
The plot was amazing and I loved Jo and Cole together Such a good plot but the writing needs an editor. This felt like a watpad book that’s been written by someone with amazing talent but who has too many words coming through at once. I was constantly getting confused by what was happening with each character because the paragraphs of their thoughts would jump around. Things would be said then mixed up the next page and I was confused.
Pulls you in!
I am absolutely delighted with this story. The storyline of waiting for the spice, and basically edging is not my usual preference of reading. But the way I kept getting pulled back in and wanting to see what the story line goes and how this couple finds their happy ever after, I couldn’t put it down and I’m so glad I didn’t. if you want an amazing story with gripping detail, then this is the book for you!
