My college sweetheart, a mega-sexy hockey god, betrayed me with my best friend. Now he wants a second chance. Ethan Anderson, my brother’s best friend, is a vision of masculine perfection, with smokin’ abs and a tight behind begging to be squeezed.
I have no idea why he dated me, a homebody that no one noticed. I worshiped the ground he skated on, but when I saw he was sexting with my supposed bestie, I bought a one-way ticket out. Years later, I'm back in our small town, inheriting Grandma’s boutique.
To save it from bankruptcy, I agree to be Ethan’s PR Manager. As we work together, our chemistry sparks alive with wild fury. Next thing I know he’s scoring goal after goal—under the sheets, w ith me .
When the boutique’s dusty attic coughs up buried treasures worth millions, I’m pulled onto a rollercoaster ride of danger. And Ethan steps up as my protector—much like a goalie stopping a breakaway shot. He wants me back and I’m caught in breathless moments of needing him too.
But should I trust the man who once betrayed me, especially now that I’m pregnant with his baby ?

Second chance hockey story with a side of murder mystery. The storyline had potential but for me it got a bit repetitive and long as we went over and over their past hurts and perceived failures in addition to so many plot twist paths. Glad they finally found their HEA. Overall an okay but drawn out read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love, love, loved this story. So many twists, turns, and mystery. Loved the nonstop action. It was strange that Ethan described Elena’s wedding dress so thoroughly. So glad they were able to work out their problems.
This read is a fast read and hard to stop reading until the end. It’s a standalone with hockey, billionaires, love, and mystery. You’ll love it.
Very interesting. I could not put it down. The personalities of the characters was well thought out. Both the MMC and the MFC had to grow up and become excellent people. It goes on my TBRA list.
New to this author really enjoyed this book and her writing style. Ethan and Ellie second chance romance story was so good ending in a wonderful HEA including everything from the past family history.
The story was ok, it went into a few different directions that I wasn't expecting. The writing ran together in parts. Elena would be talking, and then in the same part, Ethan would talk . I got confused on who was talking. Elena cuts off Ethan from her life, but never blocks Jaclyn or Dakota??? She never stands up to any of the jerks, including Ryan, and Ethan just allows them to flirt and touch him right in front of Elena without much of a response. I ended up skimming past a lot because I got so frustrated with how dumb Ethan and Elena were being! Sorry, it really was just not my type of story. I probably won't read another book by this author.
This book was not all about the spicy scenes which to me is great and it also had a good character development. It flowed well and the crazy twists and forms were great. Just an overall good book.
This is so much more than a hockey romance! There was such a huge mystery to solve and it will have you scratching your head trying to solve it! It's crazy and you'll never figure it out! I loved Ellie and Ethan together! Classic story of right person, wrong time. They are perfect together, like two puzzle pieces who can only fit each other! The character development is beautiful. Ethan matures so much, both emotionally and mentally. And so does Ellie. Like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, she grows and becomes a strong, independent and confident woman. I loved her! This story is steamy, sweet and has so much heart!
