The book is simply magical while celebrating us. The school was described perfectly and Kidan’s growth and knowledge was stunning. I’m ready for the next adventure and to see who June really is from what we were given!!

This book was fantastic and I couldn’t put it down. The back and forth internal struggle, the twists and turns of the plot. It was absolutely amazing and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

I would give this book 6 stars if I could. This was a literary masterpiece. Unpredictable and kept me somewhere between wanting to know how it ends but not wanting it to end. I truly enjoyed really a fantasy book that included black people but did not center (or include at all) black trauma. Kidane was a bit irritating at times but I loved Susenyos. The author set it up PERFECTLY for the sequel and I cannot wait!

Fantasy is not my usual genre, but when I heard that this book combines dark academia, vampires, Ethiopian mythology, and a diverse cast of characters, I knew I had to read it! She’s consumed with rage and hatred as she seeks ruthless revenge on those who have taken her sister. She loves fiercely and hates even fiercer! While this may initially feel like an information overload, hang on! The pace intensifies when Kidan unveils a secret society with buried secrets and hidden agendas. ✨Enemies to Lovers: Kiden and Susenyos (our vampire) dance from hatred to passion to hatred to passion. Their cycle is dizzying, intriguing, and quite often brutal. The mind games these two play 🔥 I absolutely love this audiobook by Jordan Cobb. Her narration brings the story to life, and I especially love her voices of Kidan and Susenyos. Cobb creates the perfect love-hate relationship between the characters. I am thoroughly impressed with this debut book! It's the first of a trilogy and the comparison to Ninth House holds up—Kiden definitely reminds me of Alex! Now I can't wait to read book 2!

I started this book and didn’t get up for 12 hours. I genuinely couldn’t put it down. It was so incredibly written, the story, the history, the descriptions.. 6/5 stars, I love this book and am counting down the days till I can read more. Tigest Girma, you have become one of my favorite authors and I am so excited to read more from you. Thank you for reigniting my love for reading.

Oh this book! Wonderfully rendered world full of vampires, hidden history, mystery, top shelf vibes, and intrigue. Tigest Girma wrote down to the bone. I had to pace myself while reading bc it was so delicious I didn’t want it to end. At first, I didn’t like Kidane, I was fully team Susenyos, but the author drew me into Kidanes world. I realize it’s only the first week of September, but after reading TIGEST GIRMA’s IMMORTAL DARK, spooky season is officially on! I can’t think of a better book to kick-off my fall reading. It’s not all dark philosophy, however. This book is packed with page-turning twists and turns as plots are uncovered and secrets are revealed. I’m really eager to see what Girma does with the rest of the trilogy.
