Chloe Walsh is a character writer. She invokes so much emotion it's quite devastating. Joey and Aoife are a story for the ages. "Saving 6" and "Redeeming 6," while SO worth the read, are painful. Joey Lynch was so real, and thank God he had Aoife because I don't think I could have handled it otherwise. I am a rereader of books that touch me, but I do have to admit I may refrain from this series. Please, please be aware of triggers with these books. I was severely triggered, and worry for anyone going in unprepared. Triggers: severe abuse, addiction, sexual assault (thwarted before the worst happened), suicidal ideation and an attempt

This was everything. Emotionally heart breaking and soul crushing. I couldn’t put it down tho. I lived and breathed this book. Thanks for giving me a good ending on this one. This book throughly recked me bad. But it the good way if you know what I mean? It was amazing and I’m sad it’s over. On to the next tho. I can’t wait for Claire and Gibs!!!

Joey and Aoife's story continue with this book from Saving 6, so definitely read that one first. But ideally you should start at the beginning of the series. This second book gives a rollercoaster of emotions as they figure out their relationship and all the complications in their lives. You'll have to read this to get their final ending because it's beautiful with everything they overcome to be what each other needs even through their fights. This side of the story does touch what Joey ends up having to experience from what you see in Binding/Keeping 13 which are the first 2 books for this series. Joey tries so much to overcome his demons and thankfully he's able to get the help that he finally needs, and in a place he didn't think was possible.

i am so sad to be done w their story :(. aoife and joey have literally been to hell and back and are some of the most resilient characters i have ever read. i am glad they got what they deserved in the end. this story moved soooo fast despite being 700 pages. the world walsh has built for this found family type book is phenomenal.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 stars. Y’all, this was a JOURNEY. It felt like five books in one. It was so nice/sad to see the binding/keeping 13 timeline from Joey/Aoife’s POV. Like Shannon’s first day of school and how worried both Shannon and Joey were. And then when Johnny offers to take Shannon home 🤭. It made me ABSOLUTELY crack up when both Joey and Tony heard Johnny’s voice 🤣. Then, the night Joey gave drunk Johnny and Gibsie a ride home 🤣. I swear anytime Johnny, Shannon, Gibsie, and Claire were on the page, I was so happy. Like when Shannon and Johnny’s relationship was progressing and he came to her house and ending up helping her with her homework, she told Joey that she kissed Johnny and that the other day they hugged and it was the best hug of her life 🥹. And freaking Joey laughed at poor Shannon. Like it’s understandable why it was funny to Joey but it was everything for Shannon because she never had anyone who was nice to her in her life besides Lizzie and Claire. And then Joey talked to her about sx 🫣. I’m so glad Chloe Walsh writes these scenes because it makes it so much more REAL. And in just chapter 3, we get gibsie already 👏👏. Like I was living for the Claire-Gibsie scenes 🤭🥹. Or literally any scene Gibsie was in. And then the epilogue was in Shannon’s POV!! That made me so happy, and even though we got the tiniest scene with her and Johnny, it was amazing!! And again this was a crazy journey because in the beginning Joey and Aoife went from being broken up, having sx 24/7, then Aoife finding out she’s pregnant, Joey going back to drugs, Joey going to rehab, and then coming back perfectly in time for the birth. So back to the beginning, Aoife was CRAZY. She made up an excuse to joey's teacher to get him excused from a class purely so she can suck his dck 🤭. And then, she showed up to his house in a coat with lingeri underneath and she wore crotch less underwear 🫣. Then, there were little signs of her pregnancy, like the weight gain and the cravings. Then the thing that made Joey spiral back into drugs when poor Aoife spent the entire day taking care of Joey’s brothers so he can treat Shannon for her birthday, and at the end of the day his father assaults her and tries to rpe her 😣. Not only that, she is understandably shaken up and not in the right headspace and she tells Joey after that everytime she looks at him she sees his father 🥲. This was a punch to the gut and a knife to the heart. First he heard it was from his mother then the love of his life 😢. Then seeing Joey and Shannon get sent to the hospital from his and Aoife’s pov 😭😭. Like that outside POV of how bad of a condition Shannon and Joey were hurt my heart. And when Darren is judging how Joey's life turned out when it wasn’t his fault, and he was trying his best 😭. But the one good thing is seeing Aoife going off on Marie and Darren. But then freaking Darren accuses Aoife of trapping Joey with a baby?!?! And then Gibsie willingly gave Aoife, a girl he barely knows, $600 all because she asked 😭😭. He is a LITERAL ANGEL 😭😭. Why is he so perfect?? Another character I love, Mrs. Kavanagh. She shows any child whether it’s hers or not so much love and care. Like she INSISTED that she fed Joey before he left and she talked to him. And it was so unsettling for him because someone else besides his siblings and Aoife was listening to him 😢. We learn more and more about Mrs. Kavanaghs past. I hope we’ll get her story with Mr. Kavanagh 🤞🤞. And I didn’t know in that night of the fire, Joey tried to commit suicde😢, but Lizzie SAVED Joey's life 😭😭. And then poor Joey had to go through even more trauma when he saw his mother’s body being pulled out of the fire…😥. Y’all, Paul the prick isn’t a prick anymore 🥲. What he did was absolutely one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. He said, “Maybe before they moved on, someone wanted to make sure his first love had a fighting chance with her first love.” 😭😭. I feel like that was one of the most pivotal points of the story. Favorite quotes/scenes: “You can’t tell me what to do, Joe. This book is a total heartbreaker, but I'm giving it a solid 5 stars! I laughed, I cried – Joey and Aoife took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. It's basically like Keeping 13 from Joey's point of view, and man, it hits hard. Joey's love for his siblings, especially Seany, is just heart-melting. Their reunion? I was legit bawling 😭 I'll never get over this story. I'm so damn proud of them! The character development is off the charts. After finishing, I feel both full and empty. This series just owns my heart, and I'm itching for more books in this universe!! Joey is something else. He's worked so damn hard to turn things around after the mess his parents left. Aoife is loyal AF. She stuck by him through thick and thin, and their love story is something else – unique and beautiful 🥹 I can't put into words how much I loved this book. It's perfect – the writing, the plot, the characters – everything. Redeeming 6 changed me; I've never felt this connected to characters before. Chloe Walsh nailed it – the story's raw and real. It broke me, and I had to take breaks from reading. #joeyaoife forever! I’m so happy they got their happy ending despite everything they went through. my poor babies didn’t catch a break, shit kept coming at their faces. my heart hurts for them.
