We love this book. You can find information online about parks, but sometimes I need a break from the internet. It's nice to sit down and flip through a book. We keep this in our RV so it's on hand as we travel around the country. I'm really glad that they included maps of the US and Canada which show the actual location of each park. Some of their other books, like 100 Drives 5000 ideas, do not include maps. It's helpful that the Information about each park includes ideas for different seasons. That way you can focus on activities during the time of year when you're at the park. One pet peeve, which is probably just me - They didn't need to include so many photos of animals and flowers (here's a sleeping white tail deer or a baby opossum hanging from his tail). Instead they could have included additional pictures more relevant to the activities at/near the park or scenery of the park.

The book is unquestionably beautiful. And it does contain ideas for what to do at each park. But... With about 4 pages per park, 2 pages are taken up by photos. So if there are on average 50 ideas per park, each idea is merely a word or phase of the thing to see or do. No details as to how to get there, no insider tips, just a series of recommended highlights highlighted in bold, and perhaps a fact or two about it to whet your interest. Of course, each park itself could have a whole book written about it (and most have) and toting 100 such books around on an extended trip is not something that most people would want to do. So this book is a good starting point for planning / getting excited about seeing all the wonderful Parks in the US and Canada.

this is an full of wonderful information

My 9 yr old gson went to the Imax in Branson one day with summer school and watched a movie about national parks. He has been amazed by all the national parks so I got him this book. He loves it, and so do I. I kept it for a few days to read before I gave it to him. Get the spiral edition, it is so worth it. Enjoy

This excellent little guide is a overview of the United States plethora of national parks, state parks, historical sites and more (including beautiful Canada!) in an impressive and perfectly sized book. The many incredible photos and good amount of information will definitely inspire a trip to a bucket list location, or even a nice road trip as well. Very nice presentation with plenty to offer. This would also make an ideal gift.
