Still the best guide for Maui. Would be nice to have correct information regarding Lahaina.
Great book
Unbelievable. When I checked into my condo in Maui they had the same book in a drawer. I wonder if they were in every room. I did have my book I brought so I used mine. But was amazed it was in the room where I stayed
Great Information, But Terrible Organization.
Book is full of great information, great photographs, and great tips. However, the organization is really annoying. There is information regarding separate areas of the island, but the activities in those areas are listed in a different section of the book so you have to flip back-and-forth between the locations, maps, activities, and food to figure out where things are, I prefer guidebooks in which the chapters of areas of the locations have all the information you need in one section of the book. Maps are ok, bit are not very detailed, and lack resturant locations.
Great guide book
If you come to Maui and don’t get this book and get the app then you are not getting all the information you need to have a great time. One small example: clued into a local place for breakfast a little off the beaten path and GUARANTEE our family save $100 on that breakfast alone! And the place was a little older, little “dated”, but as lovely as the people. Good food at a very fair price. Just one example of many. Get the book and app and call it a success.
The only Maui book you need
We just got back from Maui a few weeks ago. This book was a great resource. Unfortunately, the fire in Lahaina occurred after this issue was published. That’s not the author:publisher’s fault, except we were bummed not to try out the great things that used to be there. That said, the book covers the rest of the island extremely well. I know the next edition will respectfully address the Lahaina tragedy. If you are going to Maui, buy this book. We are glad we did.

This book is full of useful information. On my first trip I don't want to waste a lot of time looking for cool things to do, but you're in Maui so how much time is really wasted....We found some good advice on the towns, what they have to offer, hidden gems to look for (rappell Maui was a good one!) and local customs and Hawaiian life in general. It talks about the different times of year so you know what to expect, the major tourist areas without saying "go here" or "stay away from there", just the facts with a little humor interjected. This book was written for the person that has never been there before and the one that goes frequently, either way I don't think you can go wrong with this book. Overall I'm glad I spent the couple dollars for it so I can make the most from my visit

This is the best guide I have read yet for trip. Seems to be written by knowledgeable locals with lots of local insights. Author's personality shines through, funny at times but always helpful.
