This book helped my child focus on the invisible ties that hold us together when we have to be apart. It gave examples such as the mom being in the living room while the kids were in bed, the mom being at work while the kids were in school, and then morphed into more abstract ideas such as staying connected across different parts of the world, outer space, or even heaven. Probably best for moms and kids. No mention of dads at all, which is too bad. My partner is a single dad whose kids can get emotional when they know they won't see him for a while. The concept of the book is right, but could be more inclusive (of dads, minorities, other family members, etc). In all, my child loves it because it is very similar to our home circumstance.

I bought this book to have as part of my counseling stash for kids. It arrived in perfect condition. My 4 year old saw it and asked me to read it to her. Even at 4 she understood the message and loved it. Highly recommend for personal and professional use if you work with little ones.

This book is great for little ones who are getting ready to make a move. (Or have experienced a loss) It is a reminder that despite the distance they are always connected to the ones they love. It is beautifully illustrated and easy to understand. There’s also a page about a family member who is in Heaven. I found it useful.

My daughter has just separated and her 5 year old was having a hard time with it. He loved this story and helped calm him tremendously since he could send an invisible string to his dad. I would definitely recommend this book to whoever is going through the same situation. Btw, I’m always searching for great books like this. I read them myself before I give them to my daughter.

I got it for my son to deal with some separation anxiety. It is colorful and sweet, with great message. Will note one page mentions “uncle Brian in heaven” so depending on your religious preferences or if you have even talked about death, just wanted you to be aware.
