Gravity Falls is a fantastic and a bit dark Disney series that manages to ride the line between being a fun adventure for preteens and delivering a few age-appropriate chills. Throughout the show, the 12 year old twins, Dipper and Mabel Pines, consult a mysterious "Journal 3" by an unknown author to explain the paranormal experiences they keep having in the town of Gravity Falls during their summer staying with their great-uncle aka Grunkle Stan. Every entry seen in that show is reproduced here with many more. Don't read before watching the show! Spoilers abound, including who the mysterious author is. Recommended for kids that like spooky stuff, and adults that feel the same way.
I'm kinda picky I like the book in itself I like how it mostly sticked to the cartoon book I'm not. Huge fan of dipper continueing it but it add it more it's honestly amazing I just had my hope up a little to high becuase I thought there would be secret coding in purple light but that's my only pet peeve I would rather in a 4.5 an honestly that's my rating so my overall rating is gonna be 4.7
Very cool book, full of fun riddles, ciphers and lore!
After reading all of the glowing one star reviews for this book, I knew I had to add it to the family library. It does not disappoint. Summoning spells, some sus character named Bill (looks like a member of the Illuminati to me), some characters "Alex" clearly borrowed from folklore (watch out for the vengeance of the real gnomes, man) and so much more. Fear not, fundamentalist parents, Gravity Falls is not meant for you. To those of you who burned this art, shame, shame, shame...
If you like Gravity Falls, this is the perfect book for you. I bought this book because of the hype of the book of Bill and I figured I should read this book before I start it. I was right to do so, it was a true joy to read. Want to know about Stanford’s trip though the portal and into other dimensions? How about his adventures and discovery of creatures in Gravity Falls? Look no further.
Hello. Obviously i am a fan of Gravity Falls show from Disney Channel. Back when Disney used to make good stuff. I had to have this item so i made an order of 3 books which i will probably review once i finish reading them. As for this book i already know what it contains, though i did not read it 100% yet. I have to say it contains lots of puzzles, text with symbols from the show. I recommend using the symbols wheel which has 3 different sets of signs for each letter of the alphabet, you can look it up on google photos, that is where i found it. All in all it seems to be well made, quite solid, and overall it is well worth it if you are, like me, invested in this show. I actualy was planning to make this purchase a long time ago but i somehow did not do it. Good luck deciphering the misteries of Gravity Falls!
This print of Journal 3 is better than When it was first printed. The binding is well constructed, The pages are a lighter color so they are easier to see, And the printed stains are lighter so the text is easier to read this time around. There are some changes made such as Correcting misspelled words and some alteration to the text, but not by much. This book is a great addition to any Gravity Falls fan’s collection.
Being a fan of Gravity Falls makes this book a must-have. A children's book for sure, but subtle jokes here and there for adults to enjoy. Even if you haven't watched the show, this book is enjoyable nonetheless, showing much lore and cyphers that, while they've already been solved, can be fun for people to rediscover on their own. A book I loved as a child and equally love as an adult.
